Lash Extensions

Individually applied, semi-permanent lashes give the appearance of longer and thicker lashes that look natural and beautiful. They can be worn while swimming, showering and everyday activities with out the smudge and smearing like regular mascara may cause.

Considering getting a set of Lash Extensions? Read on to find out more about what is involved in the process…

Lash Application Procedure:

Lashes are dipped one by one in adhesive and applied methodically to individual lashes. On average 20 to 40 lashes will be used on each eye depending on the number of real lashes the client has and the size of the eye. The process will take one and a half to two hours and is surprisingly very relaxing.

  • What to avoid after application of your new Lashes:
  • Must avoid allowing water to contact your new lashes for at least 12 hours.
  • No Steam, Swimming or washing your face/lashes for 48 hours after application
  • Do not use water proof/regular mascara.. You will not need it and will shorten the life span of your new lashes.
  • Do not use an eye lash curler, this will cause breakage of your natural lashes.
  • Do not rub your eye lashes when washing your face and be sure to pat dry.
  • Do not pull on your lash extensions, this can cause your natural lashes to be pulled out.

Q & A

How long will my lash extensions last?
Everyone is different and it is hard to give a specific amount of time, but typically lashes will last as long as your natural lashes as long as you receive regular “fills”. A “Fill” is maintenance for your lash extensions; as your natural lashes grow and shed, and with everyday wear and tear your lash extensions will loosen and fall off. A Fill is typically required every 2 to 3 weeks and will replace these lashes.

How long will extensions make my lashes?
The average lash extension will typically add 20 to 50% of length to your natural lash. Different size lashes will be used depending on the area placed and the look you are trying to achieve.

Will sleeping or activities ruin my new lashes?
If possible it is best to sleep on your back when you have lash extensions on. We know that this is not always possible. Sleeping on the side of your face can cause lashes on that side to fall off sooner than if you were sleeping on your back.
Everyday activities will not affect your lash extensions, and more that likely you will forget that you even have them on. Exercise, swim, enjoy the outdoors, do everyday activities!

I am planning on getting them for a special event, when should I have them applied?
It is suggested that you have them applied the 2 to 5 days prior to the event. It takes a full 48 hours for the adhesive to fully cure and become semi-permanent and they will look the most fresh after this time period.

Can I use mascara on my lashes?
More than likely you will not need to use mascara, the look that you will receive from the extensions will give you fuller and thicker looking lashes and take away the need for mascara. If you feel you absolutely want to use mascara it can be applied but ONLY on the tips of the lashes, but again it is not recommended! Using mascara can cause the adhesive to breakdown and cause loss of lashes sooner than normal wear without using mascara.

How do I remove the lash extensions?
To prevent your natural lashes from being damaged you will need to return and have them removed by a trained technician. In trying to remove lashes yourself, you risk lash breakage and potentially pulling out your natural lash.

What do I need to do before my appointment?
It is best to arrive at your appointment with no makeup on your lashes or eyes. In order to adhere lash extensions, natural lashes have to be completely dry and clean. In removing eye makeup it will leave the lashes slightly damp which may not allow the adhesive to cure as well. Removing eye makeup prior to your appointment will give enough time for your lashes to completely dry.
